The cooperative welcomes you to our online boutique featuring our specialty hand-knotted buttons. The Sefrou province is known throughout Morocco for producing some of the finest buttons adorned on our traditional Moroccan attire such as the djellaba and the ceremonial caftans. Although women produce much of the handicraft, few take part in its trade leaving it to intermediaries to benefit from their work.

In 2000, I and nine motivated women formed a cooperative to take ownership of our craft. Since then, the cooperative has grown to approximately 40 members with an outreach of over 200 families engaged in refining the art of the hand-knotted buttons and providing quality and choice to some of the finest tailors in Morocco.
With the recent acquisition of a number of horizontal and vertical looms, we have been able to expand our product line to include carpets, scarves, shawls, and many fabric accessories for the bedroom with some adorned with our buttons. The women have also been venturing out into finished products adding our buttons to accent our traditional Moroccan slippers and designing beautiful and unique necklaces, bracelets, and earrings with our signature buttons.
Each purchase of our handmade products raises the economic status of the women in the Sefrou region. It enables them to thrive as dynamic artisans. Furthermore, your support enables the cooperative to hold empowerment camps for young girls, literacy classes for women, and professional business and technical trainings in weaving and natural dyes.
Thank you for visiting our site. We invite you to check out our products and learn more about our cooperative’s community engagement. We look forward to serving you.
